Workshop Technician
Want to get involved at the very heart of the workshop? Come join us and ensure the company fleet is kept in tip-top condition, while respecting budgets, deadlines and in-house and regulatory requirements.
Our performance depends on you!
At STEF, your role is to ensure that our vehicles and trailers are maintained in perfect working order, in accordance with the standards in force. This means preparing them for MOT inspections, diagnosing defects and carrying out repairs.
Your tasks also include liaising with vehicle manufacturers, organising parts acquisition and replacement vehicles, and ensuring the highest levels of safety and cleanliness at all times.
What’s more, we’ll be counting on you to update and maintain records, and keep key colleagues and departments informed of your progress, so all in all, a pretty exciting position!
What skills are we looking for?
Ideally, you have level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in HGV/LGV maintenance and repair, as well as experience in using transport repair tools and associated software. You’re able to follow established procedures, solve problems and make sound judgments, even in situations where you don’t have all the information.
You’re organised, work well under pressure, and have good soft skills, for dealing with both colleagues and customers. Your attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret data are also key skills.
Finally, you’re flexible, taking on-call duties, emergency callouts and travel to other depots in your stride.
